Very helpful, but room for a couple improvements
These straps were very helpful for the first time mama I used it with who needed some help with direction.. It was an intense birth, and these really seemed to help. We did find that with vigorous pulling some one needed to be supporting or counter pulling on the straps for fear the pulling would mess with the pool handles. It would have been nice if they would've shortened more (they were prey long for my average height client). Having a loop closer to the pool on each strap could also be helpful. This way a mom could float herself or use the short straps in a squat position. Instead someone held her feet so she had resistance against without her feet pushing against the pool. A wider cross strap might help, too, since our mom had her arm inside her leg which looked awkward. Just some thoughts, That being said this helped so much for my first time mama to direct her pushing energy. I also don't see why these can't be washed and reused, but at $12 moms may want to buy their own, too. Overall, I'm happy with this product and will definitely want to have it in my doula bag of tricks.
