Features

  • One disposable liner is included with each pool and additional liners are available.  Using a liner means two "containers" for the water, giving added protection against the unlikely event of a water leak.
  • Birth Pool in a Box has an internal depth of 26" and you can fill water to a depth of 23".
  • 3 chamber design with 6 handles and an inflatable seat and floor allow for comfort for mom during labor and birth.
  • The sides of Birth Pool in a Box are made of 3 independent tubular chambers stacked on top of each other. If one of them should puncture by accident, only 1/3 of the wall height will be lost. This is safer for mother and baby and results in little to no water on your floor than a puncture into a single-chambered inflatable pool.
  • By deflating the middle chamber to the appropriate height once a woman is in the filled pool, the height of the pool can be adjusted for safe and comfortable access to the woman by her caregivers. Not every woman needs 28" high sides. Smaller woman or smaller midwives may find that by lowering the sides of the pool by several inches, they feel more comfortable. By adjusting this on the middle chamber, the rigidity and stability of the pool is maintained by the fully inflated top and bottom chamber.
  • Mothers want strong handles on the outside of the pool for use when leaning on the side facing out. They are angled at 30 degrees for comfort and secure the form-fitted disposable liner in place.
  • Once the pool is filled, the sides are sturdy enough for a 210 lb (95.5kg) person to sit on the side without collapsing it. 
  • Inflation time: 5 minutes using a high powered air pump.
  • Filling time: 40 minutes to 3 hours (depending on the size of your hot water tank.)

Care and Inflation Instructions

Per manufacture recommendations please allow your pool to warm to room temperature for up to 72 hours before unfolding and inflating.

We recommend that you test inflate your pool once soon after receiving it to check for any potential leaks.

Please contact In His Hands regarding a damaged or leaking pool within 1 week after receiving it to qualify for a refund/replacement.  Thank you!

    Perfect for my home birth

    the only complaint we had was the cup holders were too small to fit the cup that fits in every other standard cup holder, and that the seat was too difficult to inflate so it did not get filled all the way. Despite all that, I was extremely pleased to have this for my home birth. It was certainly an upgrade over the kiddie pool I had last time! I’m also very happy that all I have to do to use it again is buy a new liner. Definitely makes it worth the expense. I also love that it comes with a bag for storage, and my husband was actually able to fit all the accessories we bought to fill/empty the pool in the bag as well, so everything is in one spot. Would recommend to anyone and everyone planning a home birth

    I purchased this for a homebirth in Germany (AD military family). It was a Godsend as the pool was very large and comfortable for me as I'm 5'10" and had plenty of room to stretch out. The pool was very sturdy and the handles were in just the perfect places for use during stronger rushes. Would highly recommend to others- a great product.

    Exactly what you need it to be and more!

    This was my first time purchasing and using a birth tub and I wasn't sure what to expect. But the product arrived promptly, well packaged and it is clearly well made. It's easy to set-up and the instructions are more than just "fill it up" - they are actually really extensive and supportive directions that guide you from start to finish. I greatly appreciated that added support. The tub got used - yay! - and it was a breeze to set up in a hurry and the liner fit perfectly and it cleaned up nicely and now it sits in it's very handy carrying bag until it's called on again. One note though -- the small/mini size is more than adequate for the average home birth. I blew it up and was wondering if they sent me the bigger one by mistake - nope! - they're just big! Even the small one. So pay close attention to your needs and your space, etc. - and how much your poor water heater can take!!!
